A recall and socialisation workshop catered to sighthounds (all sighthound breeds welcome!)

Centennial Park

Service Description

Recall and social skills are the most important skills you can teach any breed of dog. Recall is notoriously challenging for sighthounds to learn due to their instinctive nature and high prey/chase drive. Social skills can also be challenging, especially for racing greyhounds who often have limited socialisation experiences as a puppy. This workshop honours the unique nature of these sensitive hound breeds and works at every dog and handler team's level to help them achieve success! The workshop will have a relaxed and fun setting with a mix of walking around the surrounds of Centennial Park while training your dog! Learn how: - to successfully manage your hound around distractions - to tap into your sighthound's innate motivations and have them coming when called without a second thought! - to create a consistent and reliable recall cue that your dog will respond to! - to build communication and trust when outdoors with your greyhound - to build your confidence in your eventual off leash recall - to teach your dog how to socialise safely with other dogs while on leash - to teach your dog predictable outcomes around other dogs - to build your dog's confidence learning around other dogs There are 6 working spots open for greyhounds and any sighthound breeds to ensure everyone gets the attention they need!
